We gratefully acknowledge the validity and valuable ministry of many other churches in Medicine Hat and in no way do we see ourselves in competition with other fellowships of God’s people. We thank God for other churches where Christians seek to fulfill the vision God has called them to.

Not all Christians in our community will desire to belong to The Bridge, but for those who do, it is important to understand the Core Values which are fundamental to us and which we see as being non-negotiable. These Core Values are, in fact, what gives The Bridge its particular distinctiveness.

The Bible

We value the Word of God – anointed preaching, teaching, and training in the Scriptures coupled with practical application as a means of transformation and change, both in the individual and in the church.
(2 Tim 3:16,17, Heb 4:12, Jas 1:23-25)

The Holy Spirit

We value the work and ministry of Holy Spirit in our midst. The church can only function effectively with His baptism, gifts, power and presence.
(John 14:16-21, Acts 1:8, 1 Cor 2:4)

Worship

We value worship of God undertaken with zeal, passion, reverence and humility.
(Ps 150; John 4:24; Eph 5:18-20, Col 3:16)

Prayer

We value the call to be a “house of prayer” expressed in corporate gatherings as well as in personal prayer and devotion.
(Matt 6:6, Mark 11:17)

Evangelism & Missions

We value the call to communicate the Gospel to all people, by all means, both verbally and practically, without distinction, giving opportunity for them to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. This call begins locally and extends to the region, nation, and world.
(Mark 16:15-18)

Family

We value the family as the primary social unit of our society and therefore seek to strengthen and promote proper family relationships and effective ministries for all age groups – adults and children alike.
(Ps 68:6, Acts 16:32-34)

Partnership

We value networking with other churches and ministries, recognizing that such interconnection adds value both to The Bridge and the associated ministry.
(Phil 1:4-6, 1 Cor 12:14)

Ministry Through Relationship

We value each member’s unique ministry expressed through caring relationships with others. Our Life Groups seek to build such relationships between those inside and outside The Bridge.
(1 John 4:11,12)

Character & Integrity

We value character as a foundation from which an individual’s abilities can be released to function in The Bridge and beyond. A recognition of such integrity precedes a releasing of the gifting.
(Titus 1:6-8, 1 Pet 4:10,11)

Giving

We value the responsibility God has given all Christians to steward God’s blessings by faithful giving of tithes, offerings and life’s resources.
(Mal 3:8-10; Lk 14:33; 2 Cor 8:9,12)

Healing

We value facilitating the supernatural and natural in helping people come to fullness in Christ – physically, mentally, and spiritually.
(1 Pet 2:24, Jas 5:16, Acts 10:38)

Excellence

We value doing things to the best of our ability and believe excellence honors God and inspires people.
(Prov 27:17, Mal 1:6-14, Col 3:17)
